We that Watch
What gods are we that watch
a world changing and in turmoil
how close will we have to come
to the end of the world begun
will we even note the point
at which is the tipping joint
from there be all downhill
no matter our power or will
a world become uninhabitatible
for those we all know
the crops we sew
will not food yield
to feed the multitude I feel
and the resources unavailable
to attempt to eape to stars
and populate empty Mars
which we can fill with trash
where Project X spaceships crash
and are we gods to watch
as all the world does catch
into turmoil and trouble fall
will n heed the call
of oceans emptied of fish
and more in hunger than we wish
day the time will pass
for watching will not last
those we see in misery
shall in time encompass you and me.
