The Christmas Plunge

I don't think anyone over 12 is immune to it, that brief plunge into holiday despair and depression ---- usually around three in the morning Boxing Day when the letdown from all the activity hits.

It's particularly bad when you are alone. Friends and family are gone, you are alone, you're too beat to sleep easily, and all the little memories come flying back to haunt you.

One of mine lasted five years, but it was the first Christmas after my second wife died.

That wasn't a plunge, that was skydiving without a parachute..

This is the first year in a while I know I can handle it. That's a Christmas Miracle in itself.

A blogger got a little peeved because in my last post I linked Christmas and sex. But for couples sharing and giving to each other often has a sexual side, and it is nice to have someone close when the Ghost of Christmas Climax starts rattling those<b> chains.

Well, Spring, renewal, eggs, rabbits, point well taken, but arguably Easter is a little less secular and a bit touchier.

Easter I could understand, but even couples with kids leave them to play with the presents and catch a few minutes together in the bedroom with the door shut Christmas Day, its almost a tradition like eggnog and Uncle Harry passed out snoring it off in Dad's recliner..

I don't think I have ever heard it put as politely as 'have sex like rabbits;' it usually involves bunnies. But then what should I expect from such a cool lady.

That's what I thought, but I suppose there is always going to be someone who is offended by everything.

I was just a little taken aback that anyone on here would be offended by adults having sex on Christmas. Easter I understand, but not Christmas.
