This kind of justice is a damn mouthful

Some morning news to note that I found stupid funny:

A Maryland 7-yo was suspended 2 days for apparently chewing his pastry into a shape of a gun. Teacher saw his artwork and sent him to the principal, who in turn suspended the boy for the possibly inciting violence on other students.

That said, this past weekend, Serge Ibaka, center for the Oklahoma City Thunder was fined, but not suspended for knuckling LA Clipper star Blake Griffin in the groin during during the 4th quarter of their hotly contested game.

Yes, this is one of the few instances where justice is truly blind - on one hand, a decides it's funny to chew up some laughs with his classmates but gets baked for his actions. And on the other, a professional basketball player kneaded some opponent's biscuits meriting only a fine, but no other recourse.

So, what does the NBA have to do with an elementary school? Everything!

Granted we want to protect at all cost, not only from themselves but others. Understandable considering the recent outbreak of violence with the use of guns by certain individuals. But, c'mon, suspending a for being a ? If the said principal of the school were truly a smart person, they would've simply scolded him as well as talk to his parents about this instead of making him an example.

Yet, it's alright for all to see on live TV a grown man busting nuts on another, and being able to get away with it with a mere slap on the wrist.

Pop-tart that adults; shame, for shame.

You know what annoys me the most right now, Nik? Is the fact the Lakers have to go down by 25pts to one of the worst teams in the Western Conference, and then decide to play ball in the 4th...argh! And yeah, F, the Clips, and everyone else in the Pacific Division, Lakers4Life!

I think since the terror of Sandy Hook Elementary, schools have taken on a much tougher position with violence, NOT that I believe that he intended any violence towards his classmates.

As for the NBA player, it saddens me that most sports figures are viewed upon as role models for our children and yet they are no different than you or I, except of course they have a pay scale that is out of this world.
I think there comes a time when yelling fire in a crowded theater for something minute as a spark is going to be a situation that will end up burning trigger happy adults into making these quick judgments without reasonable thought.

I only wished I had a benchwarmer's league minimum salary

Can't argue with you either point here.
I need to stop reading the Internet 'news'; it gets me leaning one way or another, and preferably I want to walk upright.
