~~~ The Spouses
Yesterday I was reminded of the difficulties that a military Spouse has when their mate is deployed away from home. They have to buck up and take on the full load of running their household and life. Add to that, the stress of being worried for the spouses safety . They usually have access to a spouses network of more experienced spouses to help. But there occasionally are problems that they have no experience with . That is were the old folks like me try to step in and help where we can help out. The young Mom we helped yesterday had several rain gutters that came loose. It was a relatively easy repair and it gave her great relief to have it done. I would encourage all to remember these "silent warriors" that support the front line troops. A word of encouragement, a smile, anything that can cheer them up works.
Awesome post for this bright Monday. I suspect my niece by marriage had it really rough when Ry was in the Asia/Afghanistan theatre.
So true the Spouse of our troop members really need extra support as they have the heaviest burdens to carry of all. That is so great that you all helped her out, we all need to be that supportive..
Seduce the mind and see what a wonderful adventure the body will take you on..
It is also the husbands that are holding down the house while the spouse is deployed too. If you have children it is tough. I was lucky no kids. Either he was gone in deployment or I was gone. Only one time we both were called out and I had to make sure a neighbour was able to feed my cat at a moments notice. That same morning when I was heading into work I remember my g/f was dropping off her children to the neighbours as we didn’t know when we were coming back. We were called out for 2 my months. You never know when you have to go. Yes that life is difficult on the families but they all know why we do what we have to do hugs V
Now nice that you have an opportunity to help these people out, as a small thank you for all they have sacrificed.
It's tough being a military spouse.
