50 Shades of ...Horny

These books have sparked all kinds of controversy. Mostly within the BDSM world from what I have read. I know I am probably late to this party. My apologies but just have to add my take.

I don't really see what the big deal is. I mean if women want to dabble in some blindfolds, anal beads, handcuffs, whips, and paddles etc...then more power to them. That is what it should be about IMO. People wanting to learn more.

I will admit...I have read the first two books. I actually liked the first one. I thought the story was okay. The second one I started reading out of curiosity....but I couldn't even read through it's entirety. It was monotonous and the storyline became so ridiculous. I didn't even bother with the third since I couldn't even get through the second.

The reason I think the first one piqued my interest is because it was somewhat relatable as far as the view of someone who is new to that lifestyle.

What are all of the toys? What is the 'equipment' and what exactly is it used for? That type of thing. I mean I don't expect to learn all there is to know about BSDM from a fictional book by any means. But it was a nice place to get my feet wet (or other things).

We have dabbled in bondage a little. By a little I mean that we own handcuffs, and rope restraints. We have small whips and some other toys. Blindfolds of course are always fun. But that has pretty much been the extent of it. We have done very little in the way of dominance and submission.

Is it something that I would be interested in? Perhaps...I have to research a little more on the subject before making any concrete decisions. Would it be bad if I say it all 'looks' fun? I don't want to offend anyone. Since I know so little about it.

A sexual fantasy? That is probably what it starts out as for a lot of people. That is what it is for me at this point. I would have to find out if there is some aspect to it that would turn me on. Which part would turn me on? Those are the questions I need to figure out.

I think I may have to read them myself and see if I can figure it out. Maybe ask questions about specific events in the books. We will see. Especially after my recent escapades...
You should! Let me know what you think.

That is interesting that they won't say anything about them. Perhaps it was sexually arousing and they just don't want to say it? Very surprised your wife wouldn't share her thoughts on them with you.

Interestingly enough, my wife, my two daughters, and my daughter in law have all read these books. The entire series.

And they won't say anything about them, why they read them, or if they got anything out of them. But, they read all three.

My wife started reading the first one and gave it up because of the story. Thanks for your review. I now know for sure I'm not going to spend the time. I'll just keep perving on this website instead...
lol...that is probably a good idea. This site has way more info and from real people who have real experience. Much better.
I didn't know a guy would be interested in reading that book. But I did recently see a funny picture posted on the face place, with a guy reading it in a vehicle...he is looking out the window while holding his copy of 50 shades, and he is sporting a huge wood lol . whoever was driving snapped the pic.
