Mundane stuff, and some good news I may have a job at the Marriott Harbourfront hotel. I've put in quite a few hours there under a staffing company called MaxSys Atlantic. Today I had a conversation with Erica from MaxSys, and she said they have no reason to bar employment directly. She said she would contact the people at the Marriott. So I'll have a job in housekeeping, and will be able to work other jobs as well. It will be part time to start. But I will get on full time eventually. I had put up an ad on Kijiji as Highly Educated Woman Seeks Job, and finally received a response today for someone who has a company and is looking for management people. I also wrote a story in my capacity as the Chair of the Transgender Inclusion Committee at South House Sexual and Gender Resource Centre, formerly known as the Dalhousie Women's Centre. The story involves an imagining of me born as a male and finally at my stage of life suddenly realizing he'd been a woman all along. She then sets up life as a woman, and one day meets a woman at a pub, and the rest of the story flows from there. A filmmaker has indicated to me that he wants to make a movie of it. He'll be seeking funding for the project in Ontario in the new year. I'll also be talking to Lee-Anne Poole who wrote Short Skirt Butch this weekend about turning it into a play.
