It's the End of the World as we Know It!!!

Well that is it, all done and dusted, the votes are all counted and the UK is leaving the EU. As a Confirmed European, I voted to remain in, I didn't see that coming!

What is going to happen now? Already the Scots, are asking for Independence, because the majority there voted to Stay in! Similarly in Northen Ireland where the vote was also to remain, the Opposition Party (Sinn Fein) are calling for Union with the Irish Republic. Does this herald the break up of the UK?

The Leave campaign, was defined by Xenophobia, running a scare campaign over the number of Europeans coming to live and work in the UK!

However for me the most Disturbing News item today, was the sight of Donald Trump applauding this result! The ultimate Xenophobe, cheering on a result based on Xenophobia!

"My biggest and only real worry, will the Exchange rate for my Pension allow me to stay here in Hamburg. "

Dave you will be better off from brexit. The Euro will lose value against the pound and the dollar. You will be like the British Gurkha's. Indian rupee was equal to a pound. Now it is 90 rupees to a pound. Because of this the British pensioners in India are almost rich. For pensioners it is a windfall. It is the young that is fucked, a 6% drop in U.K GDP and a 2-3% drop in Germany will make young people's life miserable for the next 3-4 years.
You and the grand kids will be fine. It is a 3-4 year issue. But the 800,000 polish migrants in the U.K will be looked upon like Mexicans and H1B's in the U.S. They are the ones who is screwed.

Dave, Senior Sizzle boggers are amazing people. My old blog buddies, Good loyal dog, Jim 50+, DMYogi, dirty swan and a few investment bankers, directors and CEO's and I were having these discussions when Obama care was passed and Orange revolution was initiated in Ukraine.
We knew some thing like this was going to happen with 100% certainty. I had kids still in Middle and High School here, so I was stuck. But the people I mentioned above sold everything during the boom. Jim and swan became a couple, they drove from NY through Mexico to their final destination in Costa Rica, DMYogi, a Canadian also left for Costa Rica to join Jim and Swan. GLD is somewhere in the British West Indies.
The discussions were about what is the best passport to have for the future(Singapore), places that are relatively safe costaRica and Panama. For wealthy people Singapore.

Regime change in Ukraine triggered old European ethnic hatreds. Polish Foreign Minister and his wife working for WAPO as a "journalist" resurrected the anti Russian, anti Orthodox Christian Hatred. British and Germans Joined the Poles.

French resisted and made defense deals with Russia. The German dream since the time of Kaiser of a united Europe under German control became a reality when U.S essentially handed over Ukraine as a German vassal state.

Merkel fucked it all up with her chasing the Nobel when she let illiterate feral beasts from the middle east, trained and indoctrinated to conquer the infidels to E.U and forced member states to live by her diktats.

All the work done by Willie Brandt and Helmut Khol was wasted. Former colonial powers Portugal, Italy, Spain and Greece were derided as "Pigs" and severe austerity was imposed on the "pigs" by E.U

France using the terror attack blew the budgetary limits placed on them and got out from under the Germans.

Britain loosing it status and taunted by U.S defense Sec Gates and the U.S upped defense spending. Britain was and is the fastest growing economy in the E.U. They benefited the most economically. But politics and ancient ethnic divisions overrode good judgement.

Watch now British hooligans attacking Polish people in the U.K. Germans thugs will go after Muslims and Turks. Spain will go after Gibraltar, Argentina will go after Falklands, Scots and Irish will try to go with E.U. British west indies will turn into basket cases. U.K becomes divided Kingdom, Great Britain becomes lesser Britain.

U.K will form closer relationships with leading commonwealth nations India, Canada, Australia, Singapore and S Africa. After a 3 year recession will come back as a dominant economic and navel power. India just yesterday placed a billion dollar order for artillary from BAE.

I believe India is the third largest investor in the U.K. A weaker Pound will help Jaguar/Range rover to be sold in greater numbers in India and other former colonies. British Steel and Rover is owned by Indian Tata. British steel will push out Chinese steel in the huge Indian market, if they don't go bankrupt now. Will see Britain exporting a lot of defence equipment.

Biggest losers in E.U because of Brexit are the Poles, then Germans and Ukrainians.

Thanks for your comments, the UK will eventually get through this. Just this morning the Markets are starting slowly to recover.

I really don't know what will happen now with the world after all this. I think leaving the EU was the very worst of decisions. And I didn't see it coming either. It was like a vote back in 1995 when Quebec wanted to leave Canada. Glad they didn't but it would have had the same results as what your seeing your country today. hugssssssssss V Time will only tell what will happen.

I'm in your camp, Dave. The Common Market and the EU were unifying factors in the seventy one years of peace and prosperity that Europe- and the UK- have enjoyed. I think leaving the EU was the very worst of decisions. And I didn't see it coming either.

Good Morning, Yes, sadly it seems that way!
I have certainly enjoyed the Benifits, having worked for Airbus throughout the UK's time in the EU. My greatest fear is for the younger generations, including my Grandkids, for whom the the future is now totally unclear.
Whatever, that is in the future, I am going back to Hamburg this evening, see what my German friends have to say?

Being from Europe myself I am really stumped by the results...I didn't see that one coming.

Really? What part of Europe are you from?

From what I have read and seen on news programmes, it seems that Large Areas of the UK feel that there was an unbridgeable gulf between them and the Politicians. More a Protest Vote
