Eric Clapton & Friends
Imagine this: Tom Petty with Eric Clapton! Or Mark Knopfler/Eric Clapton; hell, Eric Clapton with (take your choice, depending on how you feel about great music) Willie Nelson, John Mayer, et al;that's the deal on a new CD coming out next week.
The CD is a tribute album to the late J.J. Cale who died recently. A few of his songs were previously recorded and scored top 10 credentials in past years by Clapton, Gregg Allman, among others.
As I've mentioned before, I love these types of CDs getting different interpretations of great songs by other great musicians, and like everybody else, I love having great selections in my collection.
The following is the track-listing of the CD titled "Eric Clapton & Friends: The Breeze, An Appreciation of JJ Cale":
1. Call Me The Breeze (Eric Clapton)
2. Rock And Roll Records (Eric Clapton & Tom Petty)
3. Someday (Mark Knopfler)
4. Lies (John Mayer & Eric Clapton)
5. Sensitive Kind (Don White)
6. Cajun Moon (Eric Clapton)
7. Magnolia (John Mayer)
8. I Got The Same Old Blues (Tom Petty & Eric Clapton)
9. Songbird (Willie Nelson & Eric Clapton)
10. Since You Said Goodbye (Eric Clapton)
11. I’ll Be There (If You Ever Want Me) (Don White & Eric Clapton)
12. The Old Man And Me (Tom Petty)
13. Train To Nowhere (Mark Knopfler, Don White & Eric Clapton)
14. Starbound (Willie Nelson)
15. Don’t Wait (Eric Clapton & John Mayer)
16. Crying Eyes (Eric Clapton & Christine Lakeland) |

JJ Cale has always been unknown for his song writing and music abilities....his work never fell short..with me...pretty cool ...T...
Blue...
I bought “Road to Escondido” his collaboration with Eric Clapton after realizing he was the writer for "Cocaine," "Call Me The Breeze," and "After Midnight."
Money well spent!

I got that one on CD. I finally unwrapped it two years later and, while I'm sorry I waited so long to listen to it, I am, at the same time, glad I had something new to listen to at that time.
I only remembered I had it because I was gathering all my Eric Clapton CDs together.
