I'm in the midwest and my area got hit with 14" of snow last week. This year is one of the top 5 snowiest Januarys ever with something like 20" for the month so I can relate.

As long as I'm stocked up on food for a few days and we don't lose power it's all good. The shoveling gets old but warm thoughts are enough to get me, at least for now.

Stay warm!

We just had a winter storm move through that was not quite as severe as predicted. But snowfall is hard to forecast compared to rain. If we had received the upper end of the forecast snow, I would have hired the local implement dealer to blow the driveway and the yard to the barn. Instead of 4 to 6", 2 to 3" fell, and other than the drift at the garage door and the snow at the front door deck, we will drive on it. Our winter has also been mild for temperature and low on the snowfall. I have not had to remove snow from our 400' long lane.

I really need to have the generator repaired so that if the power goes down, we have heat, refrigeration and water (rural acreage with our own well and septic system.

Back when we used to get big snows here (more than a foot) it typically was 70 in a few days so I just tended to wait it out.

Stay safe and warm!

I think you need that other type of plow guy for the upcoming snow weather.

Last night we just got the upper edge of the storm you are getting. Two to four inches. A bit less than expected as the Low ran a bit further south than expected. Kind of flurried on an off today with a bit showing this evening still. At least the temps where in the upper 20s. Hope you stay warm and safe.
I think I will check in with my brother over Boston way.

Looking for 6 to 12 inches and some winds in my part of Maine. Will havethe snowblower all gassed up to take care of my drive, about 100 feet.

I make sure the tarp covers the John Deere and the tires aren't flat. If the forecast is frigid, I plug in the block heater... I hate needing starting fluid when it's that cold.

If the snow is fluffy, a leaf blower works great.

My area is expecting the same storm. It doesn't bother me, I actually prefer the cooler temps and I have an excellent ski jacket. Also, living in an apartment building, I don't have to worry about shoveling anything

Had minor but frequent snow falls already past few weeks and apparently more significant fall due next week. I can but hope that the worst and then the thaw happens during my scheduled days off!

Prepare for storms - moi? 🤔
I don't get in the car unless there's at LEAST a foot of snow on the ground.
Ya need a killer set of winter tires and 'drifting' becomes a 'skill' event for the adventurous - over here.
No snow in the forecast. 😕

Yep coming my way as well- prediction is 6-12 inches on the coast here. Well, I'd love 6-12 inches and not from snow
And I dont have to shovel- that's a new experience. As for power I already went without for 6 hours without the snow thank to Avangrid/Iberdrola/CMP

More rain over in SW England. It's really getting a bit boring now with it all, so I say "bring on the snow"

We don't get all that much snow here thank God. In my 45 years here I can only remember having really heavy snow about 6 times.

We are supposed to get hit in the morning. So tonight I went out and got some necessities. Milk, chicken, cereal, water, etc... $150 worth. I really have to stop shopping at Costco...

It hasn't snowed on the ground here since '76. I does in the hills sometimes. Only storms we get are from rain.

I hope you're okay in all that snow McKiss.

A wee snuggle in front of an open fire would go down a treat right now!
