Declare victory

Wars have a way of ending, but usually take too long to do so. Back in the Vietnam days many toyed with the idea of the US declaring victory and just leaving. We are about to do the same in Iraq and then a little later in Afghanistan. With about the same results...

Makes you wonder what we spent so long and so much money and human life accomplishing. In retrospect, we could have succeeded better by an embargo, sending some missiles and drones to kill some bad guys and never invading...

Pres. Eisenhower warned against land wars in Asia. He was right...
