Love and affection

Love, infatuation, lust, passion, friendship, companionship, intimacy, fun, joy, warmth, humor, physical attraction, tenderness, ecstacy.

These are all emotions that sex partners share, in varying degrees.

If you ask me which qualities I want in a female sex partner, I will be greedy and say all of the above.

My guess is many men would sacrifice the friendship and companionship for hotter sex. After all, you can be friends with guys who are into sports or cars...

The old line is women give sex for love and men give love for sex! Perhaps because each gender values what it rarely receives. Men offer sex frequently and women offer emotional involvement, because that is what they want in return!

I blame biology. Men want to spread their genes by impregnanting all the fertile females. Women need a husband to help raise the offspring for many years. So it is all the ' fault! If humans were like turtles who lay some eggs and let the babies fend for themselves the females would not be preoccupied with a long term relationship.

So what is the solution? I think it helps to realize there isn't one. You do the best you can. Knowing the basic problem is inherent and unsolvable. My personal solution is to look for what I call a friendly lover. Someone to have joyous and passionate sex with, who is friendly, and I can enjoy having fun with and sharing good conversations. That is my goal and I am sticking with it. Knowing what you want helps define the search.
