love and non-monagomy

Some have speculated about a loving relationship in an open marriage or polyamorous setting. While in theory possible, my guess is the likelihood of a long term polyamory "marriage" as a stable setting is quite low. As in almost non-existent. Some Mormons do make polygamy work, but it seems to be working better for the men than the or women. And not working well at all for the age and young adult males.

So I hate to dash cold water on the pipe dreams of the fantasyland lovers, but there is a reason most cultures have not evolved stable long term open marriages. People express jealousy and desire exclusivity. Interrupting their fantasies with true life stories of infidelity is not desirable for the party "cheated upon".

There are some swingers, but their numbers are very small, as in less than 3%!

You can search for the Holy Grail, just do not expect to find it...

There are some individuals who do fine with polyamory, but out of the six billion people on this planet, that proves almost nothing... some people also eat light bulbs, and dangle from hooks...
