Something completely different

A la Monty Python. My blog has been a miserable slog lately. You want something<b> witty </font></b>and tantalizing, I guess I'll wrap my mind in a pretzel and spit out some words.

Today was beautiful, fantastic, great!
I ate bacon while the sun beamed my face!
Vitamin D, soaked in through the skin!
I'll give you the D, if you let me in!

I would, I should, I will, but can't,
sink down to those depths.
They're oh so low. They always hold-
my mind in torturous check.

To be given, me, a place, for free?
There always is a cost.
Spent in time, in treasure, blood?
Something held is lost.

A bunch of nerves, connected wires, layers wrapped in fat
It's me, a human, a brain, our muscles! funny, that
We need fat to survive, yet not a carbohydrate.
Also gotsta have the protein, so, could I get a date?
