Something to think about
Something to think about Good afternoon, I hope this finds you with that secret smile on your face. Many of you know, I have been off work recuperating from left total knee replacement. I have been released from my physical therapist. My orthopedic appointment was on Tuesday October 6th to be released for work. The lead up to the blog. On Saturday around 5 pm, I was relaxing at my friends house. We had just got in from the flea market, and were getting settled in for the rest of the evening. It was cold and rainy and nobody was venturing out. I had to take some money to the car, and proceeded down the outside stairs from the second floor. I have been up and down those stairs for the passed 6 years, and know to be careful, especially after surgery. On the 5th step down, my right foot went, I was flat on my back falling, thinking, Oh God, this is not really happening. IT DID When it was all said and done after falling 12 feet outside, I ended up hanging by a screw that had caught my thermal shirt. I was hanging off the electric meter. Long story short, I was immediately taken to the ER. I ended up and this is a miracle or whatever you want to call it. I had no broken bones at all, multiple bruises and contusions. A twisted muscle in the recently replaced knee, and a damaged rotator cuff. I was released for work on October 19 by my ortho. THE BLOG While in the ER, they were doing their thing. Ex-rays, c-t scans, neck collar, head taped down, transfers from here to there to here. Get her clothes off, or we can cut them, hearing aids out, everything out of her hands. Then we come to the earrings. In all the pain and commotion, I didn't want them to take the earrings. Someone I allowed myself to love gave me those earrings. Was he there, no. Was he called, no. Does he know about the accident, NO, not yet. Did the earrings come off, yes. You see, when you are involved with someone that is attached, when he/she is with their family, you cannot call or text, even though you may be involved in an accident. To take up for myself, I didn't know this person was attached from the beginning. You lay there realizing, you could die, and he would never know, until sometime after the fact. Just something to think about. Enjoy the ride searching for what you want here..........thegrls |

I wish you a speedy recovery! I had a similar fall, down a flight of stairs some months ago. This resulted in rotator cuff injury, plus two fractures [thumb and big toe]. Oddly enough, it's the thumb that's still giving me trouble, the other affected parts are back to normal.

I hope your knee surg came out ok, best I have been told is do all your PT therapist tells you, plus another 100%, and recovery will go well. I understand about your ER experience, 2 years ago while working ( was an independent contractor vendor in someone else's biz place) when I had an acute gall bladder attack, ended up at the ONE hospital I never wanted to be a patient in, and they, despite my words, thought I was having a heart attack, some 30K later in bills, I had my GB out, but while in ER, they wanted to take all my STUFF, and I have deep religious reasons for wearing certain things, only thing that stopped them was my STRONG statement that anyone removing anything from me without my permission would be sued and that if they persisted, I would leave AMA,and still sue them anyway. I wont the arguement, was told when I was discharged 3 days later I was not welcomed back tho !
