I have seen enough porn to become desensitized. Two people (or more) fucking just doesn't do it for me anymore. I need some character development. Who are these people? Why are they fucking? That is very hard to find these days. It's all just visual stimulation, nothing I haven't seen. I think these days porn is just a matter of money and talent. They want to get by as cheaply as possible and a lot of the porn stars (not all but a lot) have no acting talent at all. I recently wrote on my blog, in another context altogether, that I wanted sex to be "wholesome and innocent and yet instinctive and intensely passionate, erotic and lustful, all at the same time." I do watch porn, but actually not all that much, and for it to hit my buttons it has to feel wholesome and lustful both at the same time. For that reason, if I were looking for the perfect clip, it would almost certainly need to be amateur, or at least only semi professional - the participants need to clearly be loving it, or it is a turn off to me. I quite enjoy porn for women, because in most cases this is likely to mean the woman is really enjoying it. As others have said, my biggest turnoffs are music sound tracks, or people making ridiculously artificial coming noises and shouting pseudo dirty talk. I also really can't bear it if anyone looks like they might have been hurt, pressured or had to do it for the money. What can make the difference for me is usually a very subtle aspect of the woman in the clip. I watch porn because I'm a guy. In general, I'm not so concerned with a plot line, although I don't enjoy a bunch of random stuff thrown together. So, I tend to pick and choose specific scenes within a movie that have the desired effect on me. What trips my trigger tends to be content that I find convincing. Imperfect (read 'real'  women - no massive fake boobs or model typesWomen who genuinely appear into the sex and actually orgasm or can fake it convincingly. I guess I refer to them as "skanks" because they are pretty much better looking versions of slags on the street as you put it. The porn industry is highly corrupt; many of their performers have had childhood trauma, suffer from mental health and substance abuse issues, etc. I'm not a prude but, let's face it: if you can have sex with that many people without forming any sort of bond, you are soulless.
