Petition to Ban Fakes and Trolls .. ... Greetings to all ... I stumbled across a new Blog and quickly became a follower. This member is proposing several ways to modify the Blogosphere here and is seeking to motivate the 'legitimate' members on Senior Sizzle to banish the trolls, fakes, and working girls ... ... I agree with eliminating the fakes - this is an issue I've posted on before - See Below. I firmly believe the lack of civility is a direct result of the anonymity of the Internet. I don't see how reform of the rules surrounding the Blogs would change anything - that's a sad and cynical statement I know ... but it's rooted inhuman nature and everyone knows how difficult it is to change that !.!.! Here is what I posted on her Blog -- *************************************************************** At the risk of echoing those who posted before me ... I agree wholeheartedly with the desire to police the fake and 'professional' profile. I also concur that doing so would prove to be rather difficult. I'd also add that such a campaign could backfire and drive legitimate members away ... ... I've been on Senior Sizzle to remember when more active Standard Members were allowed to contact a certain number of profiles (10 ... perhaps 20 if I recall correctly) everyday if you were active on the site. I don't recall the profile trolls being as bad back then as folks quickly separated the genuine members from the trolls, professional webcams, and the working girls. However, I disagree with a wholesale reform of the Blogosphere here. One of the quickest ways to determine if a profile is real is to see if the have a Blog. I know there are issues with bullying and the aforementioned hostilities - but, I firmly believe this is due to the anonymous nature of the Internet in general ... not something specific to the Bloggers on Senior Sizzle. Just expressing my $2.00 worth - nothing more .. nothing less ... Hi Range, I don't expect anything to change regarding the active bloggers list, but if enough bloggers get talking maybe we can all change the climate back into more of a community, as it used to be. It used to be a fun place to hang out or come visit. There was a community feeling and bloggers know and shared more about themselves. You got to know the person behind the blog. Sadly, now very few people know who is the real person behind the blog or even if the person is real. There is no sense of community. It is very self serving and divisive. There is no out reach or mentorship for new bloggers. I thank you for commenting and pimping it out. Cumhandleme Do you have any Primal Urges ... We have taken on the fakes and trolls in active working group here on Senior Sizzle.. Then the member of Senior Sizzle left our group and whole thing fell apart.. We even got to meet the abuse team leader on here in a video conference they put on.. Unless they are willing to use ip address to ban people from using the site they will always have them around.. If you complain by 10 people that this person is causing trouble to get rid of them.. They should investigate and do something.. They just will not do anything hugssssssss V Good try ! When I suggested something to help with the trolls on another forum, a seasoned member said Senior Sizzle would never go for it, cost too much money and it's up to the members to report abuses. My suggestion was to hire a few people to monitor the main group rooms. The response was that there are hundreds of rooms. I meant only the main public group rooms...lobby, cybersex, hottub, bbw, mature, etc. There are about a dozen I think? During busy times, it would take a couple people, maybe even three, in the busy rooms...perhaps one person for every 10 chatters listed in a room. They would have the Senior Sizzle rules handy. When a troll posted an obvious copied and pasted post, the person would cut and paste it into a word document with the date and time noted. Invariably, these trolls post the exact same thing a few minutes later in the same room. Cut and paste it into the word document. Ban the profile forever. Yes, they would come back with another profile. I feel that, given tight controls like this, they would eventually feel it's not worth their trouble and find another site to pedal their wares. Fakes: we all know the two major ways to process a picture to see if it's a fake. Same thing. Hire a few people to run all submitted pics, before approving a profile or approving the addition of a new pic to an existing profile, through those two processes. If the pic comes up on a sex website or otherwise shows the pic does not belong to the profile holder, ban the profile, forever. Document the hell out of it. And I don't know why anyone would need more than one profile. Maybe there are some legitimate reasons I don't know about. But same pics are used, same info, just a different profile.
