Last Concert of the Summer
Last Concert of the Summer Last night we attended our last concert of the summer; Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bad Co. I realize I have attended an exclectic mix of concerts in my lifetime. What concerts have you attended? Since 1978, I have attended; Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes Queen Peter, Paul & Mary Moody Blues (twice) Statler Brothers (twice) Johnny Cash Barbara Mandrell Roger Miller Willie Nelson Deep Purple Ringo Starr & All Star Band Merle Haggard Jimmy Webb Joan Baez Judy Collins Kenny Rogers Gordon Lightfoot Jethro Tull Alabama CSN (four times) Fleetwood Mac Those are the ones I remember. Your turn "Don't count the days, make the days count" |

You have not done bad, never got to see CS&N not this side very often (of the pond) Here are a few of the bigger bands I've seen since 1978, if the date is important? Stones x4 N Young S/S Johnny & A/D John Mayall Blues Breakers x4 Steve Cropper x2 Steve Windwood Jethro Tull Ritche Havens Santana Bob Dylan Walter Trout Mick Taylor Uriah Heep Status Quo The Pretty Things Jefferson Starship Spencer Davis Jerry Lee Lewis x2 The Who AC/DC Nils Lofgren plus the many probably not known stateside. Now pre 78 I would be here all day listing them, must start a scrap book of the tickets that I still have (yes I know its sad!)

I had Dylan tickets, but forfeited the show. That afternoon I was given potentially grave test resuilts, and felt too sick to my stomach to attend. Turned out, the results were erroneous. "Don't count the days, make the days count"

That makes a great list - I kinda lost interest in live concerts (maybe it was the weather at the outdoor gigs) - but I am within earshot of the live concerts in Marley Park and can sit out the back listening to the music and the crowd.
