 I hear what you are saying. I keep in touch with someone who is attached and he tells me all the time, he is getting out but honestly I do not see it. He was at a job not far from me the other day and yet he could not stop just to meet. I decided not to contact him any more. I miss the companionship with someone more than the sex.
I am glad things are going a little better for you with the dialysis. My mother says she doesn't want to go on them. Keep the faith.
The Light is shinning and she is lonely and waiting in the darkness.

 If you had had more activities, the lack of response from this gentleman would not have bothered you. The obvious comment would be: have more activities. Apart from that, it takes two to tango.
Try to see it from the bright side. When he doesn't speak up, there's little for you to respond to. Then you will have more time to invest in yourself and it should be easier to disconnect from him emotionally.
Persist is the motto. If this gentleman is genuinely interested in you, he will contact you. If he doesn't do this, then don't put in any further effort. After all, you don't water a dead plant. Pointless.
