 and that shows you that the government does care for the people... they just care for the money more.
as for woman's intuition i do agree with you on a persons ability to pick up on when things are not right. but then you went on to demonstrate how a woman's mind has a better ability to override what she sees with false excuses

 There is nothing wrong with pride or self worth.

You're pointing out how your culture influences your actions but shouldn't DOST given the same considerations for his culture ?

DOST declining a birthday gift for his daughter from you is not because of your income level. It's because he wants to give the gifts of her choice from him as something special for her from him.

Maybe in his culture some of the actions & behaviors you exhibit are red flags to him. The more you push him, the more space he will put between you.

Your fear of him abandoning you is real because you know you're pushing him away.

The way I see it is you have 4 options :
1) Keep pushing him and he will stop all contact
2) Let him be and allow him to come to you for friendship or more at his own pace
3) Find a new lover capable of giving you everything you need and desire
4) Just be his friend with no expectations

 Yay, everyone in this relationship is evolving... if I was still healthy, I will still be in his ledge or higher. But reality is so, it's kinda' of difficult to be associating with people of another social class and not be looked down among his peers. Something got to give...

the highest ledge is the one where you see everyone as equal.. when we are all equal no one can knock us down
the lowest ledge is where we put ourself above another... here we always live in fear of being knocked down
