The cycle

I occasionally find it interesting (usually I find it annoying) that men on this site have some sort of expectation that from the moment that they find someone's profile that catches their eye, to the moment that they're nibbling on nipples is something like an hour, or a day, or even a week. Meeting compatible people takes time.

You see great examples of this in the Senior Sizzle chatrooms -- guys show up and say 'Any gals want to get together for a party?' or some variation of that theme. You even see women doing it occasionally, but I suspect that most of them aren't serious, or at least, aren't serious about getting together (they might be serious about teasing the horndogs). Guys looking for guys? I could see turning that around in an hour or two, but tomorrow, you're back in the same boat again.

The bottom line is, meeting women takes time... time to chat, time to impress, time to court, time to woo... Whatever term you like, its not an endeavor that lends itself to instant gratification.

If you're a regular visitor to Senior Sizzle, and you read profiles, and send emails, and write blogs, and chat in the chatrooms, then you know that at any given time, people are courting any number of people at a time. You might get focused on one person for a while, and perhaps let some of your other correspondence lapse, but even so, the Senior Sizzle universe ebbs and flows.

For me, I find that there are all sorts of metaphors you can use -- Feast or Famine, when it rains it pours, etc. For me right now, things are mostly quiet, so I am back at square one, and I know I am here for the long-term. I know that things will be different soon...
