I'm inclined to the view that politicians lie because voters like hearing the lies!   When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

The world in it's "horribleness" has finally been exposed. Weinstein is as bad, if not worse, than Cosby. Hopefully it ends soon. Wonder how many more closets are going to open to entertain the masses. I am sick of the news no matter the sector it covers

). After retirement, I did work for a corporation for seven years. I seldom withheld my opinions towards the Management jerks. I had a simple way of work. I did my job to the best of my abilities. When they laid a person off as a cost savings measure and assigned that persons work to me without added compensation, I took a simple approach. I told them to "piss off". Since it was a contract for a Government project, that was illegal for them to do, so they backed off. Of course I documented their attempt. I had no career intent, it was simply a job to me to be done to the best of my abilities. That confused the hell out of them. I wish others had the same opportunities , maybe it would squash the jerks

The news generally is depressing but I'm a news junkie so I keep listening and watching the news even though I can't affect what's happening. Perhaps I should stop but I feel I'm opting out if I do that.

It's not a great time to come down with something and get stuck with nothing to do but look at media.  -- I'm sure you would forgive yourself easier for falling under the weather during the Tour de France.  I think it's ok to still like Pulp Fiction. His name has touched so many things. - Those who worked with him are just starting to speak up, most with remorse; and a few are even giving residuals to women's charities. I just want to stick my head in the sand. The levels of tragedy in the world are very high. .. Not that this is anything new, but the level of awareness has increased dramatically. I could ramble, but this is just a comment. . Puerto Rico is on my mind, but there are even worse islands to be stranded on. The world of work is changing rapidly - casualisation, zero-hours contracts, turning employees into suppliers, reliocation of jobs from one county to another country, etc, all in the name of profit. As workers, we have to deal with this but then the robots will come along to take people's jobs. Those who control the robots will be fine but those made unemployed by robots won't be fine. This is capitalism; there has to be a better way!

I was really hoping to see a pic of Angela Merkel, to represent a woman in power. (There are many. She was just the first that came to my mind.) But instead, there are two predators. .. Maybe add Jimmy Savile to the lineup. .. All three fell in disgrace. (But Savile died before he was publicly humiliated.) .. All these scandals. Each similar yet different. --- I do hope that something good can come from all of this new awareness.

Gary Glitter is a no-no nowadays. I loved Rock and Roll but it's never played now. I guess it's a bit like, albeit writ small, the Nazi experiments on the Jewish concentration camps and the findings they reported have been used by the West. Ethics matter but only to a point.

Given that Pulp Fiction is my favourite ever film, should I still like the film given that Harvey Weinstein was the film's producer? Yes...because the writers, director, and actors still rocked!

I'm not uglier than Harvey but I have a lot less success than him, it's true that I'm not a man of power. Well, well, I'm not jealous too much now and I find it much more exciting to never have to force someone.
