WHO REALLY SHOT JFK?

WHO REALLY SHOT JFK?

It is 50 years ago, on 22 November 1963, that President John F Kennedy was assassinated in a presidential motorcade in Dallas. In 1964 after his death, the Warren Commission concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone when he assassinated President Kennedy and that Jack Ruby acted alone when shooting Lee Harvey Oswald before he could stand trial.

Though the Warren Commission's findings were initially supported by a majority of American people, most American people believed soon afterwards that the Warren Report was part of a cover-up and that President Kennedy was killed as a part of a conspiracy. In 1978, the US House of Representatives Select Committee on Assassinations reported that the original FBI investigation and subsequent Warren Report were flawed and that there was "a high probability that two gunmen fired at [the] President", but it ruled out the main suspects of the conspiracy theorists, the CIA, the mafia and the Soviet Union. A very recent poll still showed over 60 per cent of American people still believed in a conspiracy.

Kennedy’s assassination was one of the world’s classic ‘where-were-you?’ moments. I was not old enough to remember his assassination, but what I know now about JFK are: his 1961 inaugural speech on becoming US President when he said, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country"; his successful brinkmanship in the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis during the Cold War; his lukewarm support for the civil rights movement in the US; his policy of increasing American troops in Vietnam; his “Ich bin ein Berliner” speech in 1963 during the Berlin Wall crisis; his association with Marilyn Monroe; and his wider family resembling the equivalent of a UK Royal Family. He seems to be judged more by what he would have been than what he did at the time; his assassination after two years of office allows people to project their dreams onto what could have been.

Who do you think killed President John F Kennedy?
What does JFK mean to you?

Over 40,000 books have been written on JFK, never mind all the films and documentaries. There is a John F Kennedy Memorial at Runnymede in England.

To me, because I am Canadian, he was a good President!
I believe there was more than one shooter. Oswald was definitely one but I believe in the "grassy knoll" theory!

A little known fact is that his personal doctor shot him up with methamphetamine each and every day for "back pain". But you probably couldn't get a safer way to to use the drug than having a doctor monitor your doses like that. Yet, still Kennedy was on intravenous meth for much of the time he spent as President. Plus a whole lot of other very strong drugs. He was kind of a "sickly" guy if you do the research but of course at that point it was still pretty easy to keep facts like that from leaking to the press and such.

Another drug he was using was dilaudid which is pretty much like pharmaceutical grade heroin. Again, his personal physician dealt with all the details so he was probably never in any real danger of ODing or anything. But yet he was indeed a "druggie" president.

I won't judge him for it. Lots of other important people throughout history were as well but still maintained enough functionality to perform their duties just fine. And it really does help if you have personal physician who has your back to make certain you don't screw up with it.

I think the guy who had the most to gain by JFK's demise is the guy behind this shooting. Lyndon Johnson. If you watch the footage of Johnson on that day, He looks as if he would rather be having a root canal done. You can tell he was not Kennedy's biggest fan. I also believe Oswald was a fall guy, as was Ruby. I don't know if there was more than one shooter. All I know is that Kennedy died much too early and we will never know what this country could be like if he had lived.

There is a difference between a good BJ and a bad BJ.

I was just in the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum in Grand Rapids and there was little mention of the Warren Report(3- bullets) or the Congressional Rpt (4-bullet) but they both can't be correct especially when another list (5-gunshots)
It's difficult to understand why after 50 years the truth is not out.

It's amazing that his assasination has not been explained.

Our JFK moment in the UK was Princess Diana's death. It doesn't really compare, an American President and a Royal Fmaily member!

I believe Lee Harvey Oswald was innocent of the assassination and was fingered as a fall guy by the CIA because of his sympathies with Russia.

John F. Kennedy means very little to me as an Australian who was born after his assassination but I think he was bumped-off by the CIA for something most Americans know nothing about and only a very secret few did know anything about.
The CIA has always been in the frame, which I guess is one of the reasons why we don't know who was behind JFK's death!

It's amazing the truth is not out. It would have been very high risk for Lyndon Johnson to have bumped JFK off. But who knows?

Totally agree, the right-wing US reactionary establishment is where many problems lie. It's almost irrelevant whether they may have been behind the killing of JFK. I love your politics.
