I love you yet I hate you.

Shoes!!

Had to wear heels today and it hurts so bad after a while. It was not even high heels and it was less than 3 inches plus not pointy.

How does other ladies do it? Walking all over in high heels, some even run in them.

I fare slightly better in open toe wedges where my toes can wiggle freely and flat base ensure I will not simply topple over from a misguided step. Probably I am just clumsy in heels.

Yet I love looking at heels. They are so sexy and make the legs looks so long and slender. Plus it adds some height to my petite frame.

Ooh, it is so annoying. Furthermore the shoes get injured quite easily from my haphazard walking. Getting scuffed while climbing the stairs etc.

SS had casually mentioned that things don't last long on me. Bags and shoes needs to be replaced so much more often than his.

Ah, oh well.. I get to have a variety instead of sticking to few pairs of shoes that are long lasting.

In recent months I spontaneously got interested in wearing heels. Probably has to do with my newfound love of stockings. Yet, like you, I couldn't wear them for any length of time without discomfort - nay - rage.

Not easily deterred, I purchased SEVEN pairs of heels over the course of a few months. This brought my heel count to 8 and my overall shoe count was merely doubled. Variety is key. Short ones, tall spikey platform ones, comfy boots and cute mary janes. I wore them daily, and after a day of discomfort in a tall pair I'd retreat to a shorter pair but not to flats. I developed barbie feet - accustomed to staying all pointylike and able to tolerate the weight on the balls of my feet.

But then I spent a month in Mexico where I almost never wore shoes at all. And I'm back to the drawing board.
