Not a bush fire but...............................

I've woken up the past two mornings to my house being full of smoke.

As it gets lighter I can see a thick blanket of smoke. I know it's only a back burn to try and keep us safe during the Summer months but, I still get a sick feeling. I can't imagine how my friends feel who lost their homes a couple of years ago when we had horrendous fires.

I get the same feeling at the start of the cold weather, when those with log fires light them.

Thank goodness we have brave volunteer firefighters keeping us safe by doing the back burns.

Thank you.

This photo was taken before the terrible fires two years ago.

Thanks for popping in and leaving a comment.

It makes you wonder what goes through idiots heads when they do something so stupid.

glad you are safe...there is a major forest fire in Alberta [ a province in Western Canada] which has burned much of a town as well..reports of 110,000 hectares burned...that area is equal to 25% of our island..scary stuff.

The wild life that are killed is also very sad.

I hope the fire in Alberta is put out soon, and that there will be no loss of lives. Fire is a scary thing, as it's so unpredictable.

Thank you. They try and back burn in the hope of containing the fires we get leading up to and during Summer.

This back burn was quite a way up the mountain from me, but we had the heavy smoke which has now cleared.

I can't imagine what it must be like living with the risk of these terrible wild fires. My prayers are with Alberta in Canada now. It's awful.

Another reason I hate Summer. Would love to leave the bush for a sea change.

I feel deeply for those in Alberta.

My prayers go out to all those affected by the fires.

The back burn that happened last weekend is to help any fires leading up to and including Summer. Just getting into some cooler weather at long last.

I laugh at the ones rugging up already, boy are they going to feel it when it really gets cold.

I leave it for as long as possible before getting into Winter mode. Sorry, you can keep your heat.
