Its Derby Day!


While I live in Indy and Louisville is about an hour, hour and a half south of here, Derby Day has always been a big deal around here.

I've been to the Derby a couple of times and I highly recommend it, even for those who aren't into racing.

My neighbors are originally from Louisville and they have a tradition of sipping Mint Juleps and watching the Derby every year. They even have a little 'plot' of mint they grow specifically for today.

They also make a mean Mint Julep

Unfortunately they're actually down in Louisville this year so I'm gonna have to make my OWN Mint Juleps. I'll grab a sprig of mint from their mint patch and get to muddling up a couple of Juleps for me and the lovely 'Mona'. Then we'll watch the race as always.

For me, the Derby truly kicks off spring and heralds the start of the month of May which, given that I live in Indy, is a pretty big deal around here... LOL

The grass is mowed, the house is clean and the pretties pair of feet on this planet will be heading my way in just a little bit along with a gorgeous, young 'thang' who wants nothing more than to be bound, have pics taken and then, hopefully, be Tazzer-ravished after which, I'll be sipping mint juleps and watching the run for the roses.

Life just doesn't get any better folks -tm
