HAPPY NEW YEARS!

HAPPY NEW YEARS!  So HAPPY NEW YEARS to everyone. I hope that everyone rang in the new year with a open mind to having a better year, I know I did. Did you spend your new years eve with someone special? Party perhaps? Or were you a fuddydud and stay home alone? I was actually planning on spending my new years eve at home alone. A good friend called me up and asked if I had plans and when I said no, he told me that I did now! So instead of staying home alone wallowing in self pity....I went to the Flaming Lips concert in downtown Okc, Ok. Ok....so it wasn't my first Flaming Lips concert on New Years eve... I actually went last year with the guy I was dating. But sat way up in the nse bleed section....which was kinda kewl because the band did Dark Side of The Moon....the light show was amazing.... Ok, back to now....My good friend is a musician....but only on the side. Other things in life took presednece and he didn't pursue it the way he should have. 2010/2011 New Years Eve at the Flaming Lips concert....my good friend texts me to let me know he is running late....No problem, kinda cold out and not really looking forward to walking outside! He arrives and off we go.... Of course wouldn't you know that it is New Years eve and EVERYONE is out and about so parking downtown is hopeless....but low and behold....a parking garage...only $20! Well after making the long trek up the garage to the rooftop...we park and head over to the convention center where we need to pick up tickets. My friend gets the package and off we go. Oh, did I mention he is friends with one of the members of the band? And that he can go to any concert they are playing free, as long as he finds his own way to the venue? So he puts my little VIP ALL ACCESS pass around my neck. And off we go. Through the crowd.....through the backstage area....into the dressing room. Ok, so I am still in awe of Rock Stars....and when they are talking to me....um..yeah, lol. I think we saw 15 minutes of the concert from the floor....the rest was either backstage...or on the stage. It was AWESOME. At one point when my friend was off taking pics, and the crew was telling some people to clear the backstage area....they looked at my pass and told me I was good! Me? Good? lol..... They even used me....ok, ok so it wasn't like that. They were in the middle of changing out instruments and one of the crew saw me standing there and shoved a guitar/bass in my hands and said "here sweets...hold this"......so I did! My friend came back and was taking pics of me....these will definitirely be put out on my FB page~~~~lol! The countdown begins and when the midnight hour strikes....I get a peck on the lips. But you know what? It didn't matter that I didn't have that hot kiss to ring in the new year. I was with a friend and I was happy. Life is good. I will be more optomistic this year. Of course that was just the first half of the concert...so when I got home...at 3a and put on my warm pjs....I felt happy. So to all my fellow bloggers, followers and most of all to all my FRIENDS....I love you lots! I wish you happiness! And I raise my glass of chocolate milk to you! HAPPY NEW YEARS!
