Sunday Morning Slide

I love a quiet Sunday morning.

My world is still sleeping, there are no lawn mowers, no stereos, no , no traffic. I just went outside and watered my potted plants and could actually hear birds singing and a soft breeze rustling the leaves. There is the lack of humidity in the air that tells me Autumn is on it's way.

There is a balloon rally this weekend. I enjoy going, but I don't know if I will go today or not, it is a long ride.

Maybe I will just go to the backyard and watch the moon rise and listen to the frogs singing in the pond while the mosquitoes try to drain me of my blood. Vampiric little bastards that they are.

And of course, this is the opening weekend of the greatest Kansas City tradition, the Renaissance Festival. Today will be packed, it will be hot and there are several more weekends to attend. (Probably next weekend, the Highland games are next weekend. Men in kilts. Yes.)

There are tons of things out there this weekend really. Festivals, pow wows, gatherings. Which makes Labor Day a bit laborious for some folks. I hope you get the chance to get out there and enjoy the happenings in your area!

Happy Labor Day

We still have a bit of summer left here, but Winter nor Summer has much effect on me. I seldom leave the house these days.

Good morning. I spent most of the Labor Day weekend in the swimming pool.

I can feel Autumn approaching by the angle of the sun. (And the length of the day.) It is hot outside, but the air-conditioning doesn't have to work as hard.

But I don't know how you're getting away with that low humidity.
It's as humid as it's been all year where I am.

Read my diary Journal of a Taxi Driver for taxi stories and pictures of flowers and trees.

The mornings and nights are free of humidity, but the heat of the day is still sticky, north wind hasn't been able to push it all away, but it will be gone soon enough and then the nasty white shit arrives lol.

lack of humidity...lucky you. Wisconsin has turned into Florida lately and i am not digging it AT ALL!! that's the biggest reason i didn't go to the Ren Faire this year...too damn hot and this is the last weekend for ours.

It used to be a regular occurrence to see hot air balloons floating by here, but your post reminded me that doesn’t happen anymore. Perhaps the price of propane is a factor.

Price is a factor in everything these days.
