TIRED, ACHING FEET?

TIRED, ACHING FEET?

DO YOUR FEET ACHE ?

I was born with weird, flat feet.

My feet are large--size 14. If I want to wear socks with shoes, I need size 15 wide....

The strange thing is, I've always been a walker and never had any problem with my feet.

When I went through a physical to get into the Army Infantry many years ago, the doctors made me walk around the room to make sure my flat feet didn't pose any problems in walking...

My feet intrigued Romyna, my wife from Tampico, Mexico. Romyna said my feet reminded her of some of the natives in her hometown who were exceptional walkers and whose feet were flat like mine.

I also remember seeing pictures of Aborigines in the Australian outback with feet that looked as flat as mine. (They look like two slices of fresh beef liver spread out on a glass countertop !)...

When I was young, I didn't pay much attention to my feet; or to any of my other body parts.

My theory is: if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Our feet are pretty delicate when you come right down to the way they're constructed. If I remember correctly, each foot contains 32 very delicate bones, and of course a lot of connective tissue.

Feet take a lot of pounding in our daily lives, and in my case I sometimes step on a small rock right in the middle of my foot where there isn't any arch, and bruise that delicate portion of my foot. (Yes! Thank you. I do wear those soft gel arch supports that are sold all over the place, and they do help to cushion the impact!)

The area where we live consists mostly of sand, but many places have sharp rocks sticking up through the sand, and if I'm not careful it's an easy and painful "step" to bruise the middle of one of my feet...

Above is a picture of some rubber gizmos (my term), I've found that really help to stretch out my feet and heal any small bruises I happen to get..

I bought these things through a catalog, they're not very expensive--around ten dollars a pair--and I just happened to think if you're having foot problems(like planter fascitus), you might try them and have as much success with them as I've had...

I bought Marisol a pair of these things too. She has dainty little feet with a high arch, and has never had any trouble with her feet... But... she's tried these little rubber things, and says she loves the way they stretch out her toes and arches. When she puts them on for a short time (about ten minutes), they make her feet feel wonderful--like they've been freshly massaged.

When I go shopping, I sometimes see most of the people limping as they come and go from the shops. I think a lot of people in this area have problems with their feet and legs!

I'm glad you've found a solution to your foot problem.. You're right in saying, "Whatever works!" I feel the same way about most things. xxxxdavid
