 He reportedly is an ego-maniac. Maybe Maria couldn't take his stuck-up ways and pulled back from intimacy, the housekeeper was flirtatious and available for him to get his rocks off. The "love child" resembles him quite a bit, someone made an inference, the media figured it out, and the truth had to be told before an inevitable avalance of scandalous talk ensued. He is a colossal jerk, the housekeeper is a wannabe, and all Arnold's kids will suffer from this, for sure. Very sad. It's a good thing Maria's mother isn't around, she'd probably beat him with a broom!
