 I would guess that there's a huge amount of variation. One very common way people choose a cheat partner is to choose someone who makes them feel special. Another is simple opportunity. Of course, if you have a male partner and cheat on him, you might choose on the basis of cock size. But I suspect that's not the number one selection criterion.

(Am I taking your remark too seriously?)

Also, in reply to your message title, I definitely upgraded when I dumped my evil ex-girlfriend and met my wife. (No cheating there though; I had moved a thousand miles to get away from the evil ex-girlfriend.)

I think my wife is an upgrade compared to my first wife too, but they're both great women.
