Your visit was a wonderful thing to do. Unconditional love is just what she needed!
Your sister will need tons of support and therapy might help. He had her brainwashed to be filled with guilt for not being perfect. When she realizes life is better without his abuse, she will again feel guilty. Her struggle isn't over just yet. I'll be praying for you and yours!

PonyGirl, thank you so much for your kind words. I agree, my sister will need lots of therapy in order for her to feel good about herself. God knows, I try to help her, I just don't always know what to say.

Well, as I was writing this yesterday morning, my brother in law was already gone. I couldn't understand my sister over the phone, she was so distraught. She insisted that no one come to see her, being so afraid of the virus, but I couldn't let her be alone on Thanksgiving. I mixed up a batch of peanut butter cookies, and drove the hour to her house. I rang the doorbell, and the second she saw me through the window, she lost it and started sobbing. We talked, we cried, we hugged, we took a chilly walk with the dog, and then we baked. She seemed to be much better when I left. No funeral, maybe a memorial service next summer. It's gonna be an interesting time, but we are here for her, all 8 of us siblings. Lots of love here.

Have a great day, and be nice to one another.

Oh hun I am so sorry for all the losses in your family.. And I hope you feel better, and hopefully your sister will come to grips about what has been happening in her relationship. You know some say love is blind and in her case I totally think that quote fits, sorry to say.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, and I hope its a blessed one..

Seduce the mind and see what a wonderful adventure the body will take you on..

2020 has been eff'd up from the jump! You "biker babe" and yours have had it rough and I'm sorry for that. You have lots more moving parts than I. My family, save for a few cousins that I love but because of distance don't see very often is down to me and my two kids and grand kids and I'm thankful every second for them. I continue to try and find the "right one" for me,who knows maybe '21 will be the year. You and your family will be in my thoughts as we finish '20 and also as we roll into '21 which I hope and pray is much better for both of us. God Bless....Steve

Sounds like your sister will need some help to get moving along with her life. Sounds something like the Stockholm Syndrome.

It has been one hell of a year. Hopefully the virus comes to an end.

Happy Thanksgiving

Some times it seems death works overtime. It seems that 3-6-9 people will die in a short amount of time. Just have to keep your chin up and keep on trucking.

Anything worth doing is worth doing right
