Needaltlsomthn2,

Thanks for replying to my post. You make two very good points. Our perception is shaped by our environment. When most people are overweight then it appears to be the "normal" state. When I was younger, when I saw the entry "average" for body type in dating profiles, I was thinking, well, what does "average" mean? Now, I'm afraid, I have become the "average" myself (luckily, I haven't got any health issues related to it. Yet.). And about the other point, you are right also, a lot of the weight gain is inside of the body where it is not visible and doesn't necessarily increase the volume of the body as much. A third point may be that weight gain concentrates at specific body parts for some people. At the belly or the butt (or who knows where else). It is more visible in these cases. In my case, it seems to be more evenly distributed over the body so that I don't notice it as much. I still notice, though. And I'm not happy at all about it.

You err, though, with your assumption that I would have more difficulties to get out of bed now, compared to when I was younger. On the contrary, I only sleep about six hours on average. When I was younger and my body mass was less I was more tired in the morning. Now, I wake up and I'm awake immediately. I don't feel less energetic than before in any way nowadays.

Well, I have got a plan with respect to nutrition and exercising. I'm going to work on it. Let's see how far I will get with it. Perhaps, I'm going to document this in a series of photos here. This is Plan A. If Plan A fails, Plan B is to get a time machine and be 20 again.

I think we have gotten use to seeing Obese people all around us and our "vision" is off. The weight you carry on your abdomen and waist is just what you see on the outside, you have accumulated fat on the inside around your organs also. Around your 40's you start paying the price for un-healthy living. Heart disease, diabetes, COPD, fatty liver, to name a few . Also did you know that 40% of men age 40 have ED? This is a warning sign for heart disease that most people miss/ignore. I bet you have noticed that you don't "roll-out-of-bed" as easily as before, drop 25 lb and you again will be energetic. Imagine carrying a 25lb sack of potatoes EVERYWHERE with you. Do it now and your body will reward you later in life. : )

If you don't stand for something , you will fall for anything !

I suppose I should have clicked the "Respond" link instead of simply adding a "Reply" to get my response under your comment.
