I am mortal.

Getting blasted in the face by sand pressured at 4500lbs through a 2 inch valve = not fucking cool! It would have been one thing if it was a result of something stupid I had done, but it was the result of someone else's stupidity. Fortunately, the guy that was supposed to have closed said valve took the brunt of the blast. (Yes, if I had been the one that was supposed to make sure that valve was shut, I guarantee it would have been shut.) It really brought home that I really can die out here. Either as a result of someone else or simply something blowing out altogether.

When a reminder of your mortality hits, some are more of a slap in the face than others, eh?

P.S. I am fine. I didn't even bleed. Stung for a bit and stayed red for a bit longer, but I repeat, I AM FINE.
If you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning.
