Life Goes On Baseball is a lot like life. The line drives are caught, the squibbles go for base hits. It's an unfair game. -Rod Kanehl Unfortunately the trip to the hospital wasn't the quick in and out visit I hoped. The smaller abscess connected to the older, larger abscess and from what I'm told, the pathway they have cut leads 7 or 8 inches up into my pelvis. So now I have two drains. The one they put there late last year and now a Seton that goes into my ass cheek and follows the loop all the way around and back out. Graphic, I know, but that's just how life is, graphic. Since Alfred has been gone to New Orleans with a conference, my parents came up to take me to the hospital and bring me home. That was Wednesday and no matter how much I tried, I couldn't get them to leave until today. I really get no rest while they are here "taking care of me." After they went to bed last night I was cleaning the kitchen where they left everything they ate during the day. They are fantastic and I really do appreciate their help but I'm the type that I just want to be left alone to rest and heal. If I were an old hound dog, I'd be the one that crawls under the front porch and you wouldn't see for days until he crawled out or you smelled him. But, even with all that, life goes on. Tomorrow is opening day of the high school baseball season. Since the Boy Wonder is going to be helping me this evening by staying here and hooking me up to my IV, I will have to have him at the ball field at 11 tomorrow morning. He wasn't really happy with the baseball coach this year. They told him that since there was a really good senior that plays in front of him that he should play junior varsity in order to get more playing time. They did the same to a good friend of his who also has a senior playing in front of them. It took a couple days but he did realize its better to play than to sit on the bench even if you are on the varsity team. It's just another part of life. It doesn't matter how good you are, sometimes someone is just as good but has seniority. Sometimes its better to be the big fish in the small pond by playing junior varsity. He and his buddy have already been told that they are the teams ringers. I need to go to the grocery store this evening and make sure I have something good for that boy to eat. So, I'll take him to the game in the morning, Sit there as long as my ass lets me, then go to the airport and pick up Alfred. Maybe then, I'll get to rest. I've gotta get my magic wand out of the shop and start waving that bad boy for ya!! One flick~swish for your ass, one flick~swish for no pain, one for the ability to handle sitting through a whole game, and an extra one just because...  Just Another Geek on Senior Sizzle
