Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Yeah yeah, I know -- that's part of the theme song from Rawhide. It's appropriate since I'm headed west at the end of the month. Looks like I'm driving to Colorado with the SO and leaving him there for a week while I take off on my own. My original idea was to cover as much area as possible in the time I had, since I've never been out that way before. But now I'm looking at a slower pace of travel, and just enjoying what I can get to. A definite must visit is Glacier National Park. From there, I plan on skipping over to Cut Bank MT, and into Canada if the rental car people will let me. Just so I can say I've been to that part of Canada!! So does anybody have any tips or suggestions about places and things out that way? I'm a big fan of out of the way holes in the wall, odd places that nobody else in their right mind would want to visit-- that kind of thing! And anyone who knows me, knows that I like to drive. So distance isn't usually a factor. Available time is a bigger pain in the ass. And don't be giving me any GPS coordinates either, since I don't own one anymore. (since the neighborhood shits stole it out of my truck that is ....) |

Dont want one, dont need one ! I can read a map perfectly fine thank you  And I dont need the additional distraction when Im too busy looking at the guys riding by me LOL And speaking of which, nice ass ya got there ......

I think you have a great plan there Rat I hope you enjoy every site and sound....maybe you will be makin some of those sounds...lol. Wish i could give you a goin away present.

FINALLY A LEGITIMATE ANSWER !!!  Id already planned on doing Going to the Sun, assuming its not closed due to snow LOL. As for going across the border ..... we'll see how far I get. Hopefully they decide to let me back into the US when I come back across!

It went well-- I had a great time-- just wish I'd had more time to wander. I never made it all the way up to the Canadian border, in fact, I petered out in Billings. But that was OK ..... Billings had kind of a soft spot in my heart anyways I went interstate for a ways, and took a fair number of backroads too, which was my main intention. And I learned to NEVER believe what the road atlas says concerning distance when you travel thru a national forest LOL. Or rather, the distance may be correct, but multiply the time needed by 3!!! Anyways, cant wait to go back and explore some more.

Next I fully intend to hit the top part of the state. I've got a plan for that -- now I just need to plant a money tree to be able to fund it !! LOL I think that'll be the "fly and drive" program -- fly out, and drive either part of the way back, or all the way back to VA. As long as I dont have to go thru Kansas again, I'll be good The next trip will be a while, I think. Maybe next year, but it might be the year after, and DEFINITELY NOT in the winter. Sorry -- dont like cold and snow.
