Can you put your finger on it? Sexual attraction is a strange, elusive quality I think. I mean, there I was, sitting having a coffee with a friend, talking about sports and his new born baby, when my eyes wandered to a table on my right. A couple of women were sitting there, not dressed or looking particularly sexy, and yet........ One was reasonably pretty, the other, less obviously attractive, but she had that look. I noticed her legs. Actually, all things considered, they weren't great legs, at least not what I would tell you I liked if I had to design the perfect look for a woman. But somehow I found myself starting to think the Thoughts. You know, those kind of abstract sort of I-wonder-what-it-would-be-like-to be-between-those-legs Thoughts. I really couldn't tell you why. Out of all the women I have seen in the last few weeks, she was the sexiest, but I would never have picked her photo out of a line up. She might not have a personality I would like, or even a nice voice. It was a crowded room, and she was twenty feet away at least, so you can't blame<b> pheromones. </font></b>So what exactly was it that attracted me? Prairie girl does that to me sometimes, just the same way Gothic Girl used to when she was around. They just have something extra which makes me get horny about them whether they are looking their best or not. The only thing these type of women ever have in common that I can think of, is that they are almost never blondes. (Although I often do find blondes attractive, but somehow not in the same way. Like I said; I can't put my finger on it. ) This feeling is even stranger, because I know that in reality what counts with me is what is in a woman's mind, rather than some random visual impulse. And yet the visual impulse is still there..... Does this happen to you with people you find sexy? And if so, have you ever worked out why? Is there ever a common factor? |

I would say yes .. and it is all confidence in bearing. There is a confidence exuded by all those I find sexy - and they come in all types .. but that is the common factor. And I can just as easily spot it next to me as half-way down the block. ~ [blog kelidgh]~ I am, indeed

That is a very interesting question. My first impulse was to say "I know what I don't like...." and proceed to list off various physical attributes I find displeasing. These are fairly concrete, for folks, aren't they? But you're right, unless you use a term like 'bearing' or 'attitude,' or...confidence (as mentioned above) it's really hard to pinpoint the physical - the above being rather metaphysical, right? - of desire. So, what I came up with is: I prefer brunettes, although I fell in love with a blond man once. I prefer men who are at least 3-4 inches taller than me, and I'm 5'4'', although I have had some of the best sex of my life with a man who is about 5'6''. I prefer men who are about my age, 10 up or 10 down being my range, but I have had lovers over and under this range. Last year I was about one milisecond from having a really great night with a man who was 19, but at the last minute life intervened (for example.) I prefer men who are well-groomed and have good hygiene. I CAN NOT think of any exceptions on this one. MT

Thanks, good to see a comment from you. You could be right about it sometimes being a coinciding state of mind. But in this case there was no come hither look - I don't think she even saw me. I just liked her legs for some reason!

That feeling rarely occurs to me but when it does, it's strong enough that I think everyone knows what I'm thinking. It has everything to do with his eyes, his smile, the way he carries himself, and (almost inevitably) his hair. There's something about some long-haired men that's so virile to me... Elevate me...
