A Matter of Semantics

Army Lt. Johnson gets himself a new secretary. She’s young, sweet, and very polite. One day while taking dictation, she notices that his fly is open.

When leaving the room, she says, "Mr. Johnson, your barracks door is open."

He does not understand her remark. But later on, he happens to look down and sees that his zipper is open. He decides to have some fun with his secretary.

Calling her in, he asks, "By the way, Miss Jones, when you saw my barracks door open this morning, did you also notice a soldier standing at attention?"

"Why no, sir,” the secretary replies. “All I saw was a little disabled veteran sitting on two duffel bags."

One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that it is such a nice change from being young.
