What happens in Vegas

I like to get wet, there is something about me and water that go together. Now Im not saying that I am a great swimmer or anything like that, I just enjoy swimming. I mentioned recently that there is zero swimming opportunity to in Spokane unless you like icy lakes or pissy pools. Even when you are on vacation finding a decent pool is still problematic. I put a little bit of thought into where I could go to solve this problem.
First I should say a word or two about the source of the problem, insurance companies. The cost of insuring a pool has gone through the roof and the deeper the pool the higher the premium. The few hotels that maintain pools typically only have a depth of 5. Now I ask you, what kind of fun can you have in 5 of water, if youre as tall as I am you can get your dick wet easier going to bed. I could go on and on about the evils of insurance companies and how they take the fun out of life, but the is a post about solutions not problems.
The best place I have found for swimming fun is in Las Vegas. Not only is the weather in Las Vegas great for swimming, but every Casino has at least 2 pools. Hang on there, Im not done! Even though every Casino in Vegas has a pool, thanks to water conservation regulations they are all limited to 6 in depth, and you are lucky to find that. The 2 exceptions that I have found have been grandfathered in because they were made before the new regulations. All the other Casinos have beautiful fixtures and poolside service with beautiful/handsome servers, with regularly scheduled parties. The only problem is the pools are made for getting your ankles wet and that is about all.
If you like to swim the place you want to go is Ballys Casino, the Casino itself is just a conglomeration of buildings with inconsistent architecture and no real theme, but boy do they have a pool. The pool at Ballys is an Olympic size pool that is 12 deep, I can have some fun in a pool like that. There is one other choice that is much smaller, but has the benefit of being a rooftop pool. Attached to the Fremont Street Mall is Binions Horseshoe. Notorious mobster Benny Binion started the Horseshoe. The pool is actually on the roof of the Mint, which was annexed into Binions. The Horseshoe is currently under renovation and I can only hope that they dont mess with the pool, cause it is such a cozy intimate setting for a warm desert night.
I have also done a little research on when is the best time to go to Vegas, and the conclusion I have come to is on or about October 20th or April 20th. These 2 dates are the times which the average daily high reaches 80 degrees, any warmer is uncomfortable and any cooler is just not swimming weather. Since I have already have Vegas on my mind I tend to notice when they do a Cops in Vegas show, as a matter of fact they do a lot of law enforcement shows in Vegas.
There is one particular kind of crime that I always see them single out in Vegas, the street . These shows are filmed with the cooperation of local law enforcement, and if they really wanted you to know that they are a family town they wouldnt be running street vice up the flagpole on national television. I get the impression that they want to have their cake and eat it too. They want to maintain the family image, and they want the town to be an entertainment magnet. In the mean time it almost seems like they have these girls scoped out ahead of time.
The law and order establishment has us conned into believing that they are saving these girls from a dead end fate. I put it to you that a conviction will do more to doom you to a dead end fate than the career ever did. Whenever you apply for a job these days the first thing they do is run a background on you. At the end of the day is a victimless crime, at least I have never felt victimized. A girl looking for employment is going to have 3 potential bad outcomes from carrying a vice jacket into a prospective place of employment. 1. Not getting hired. 2. Getting graymailed. 3. Getting hustled. Society has nothing to gain by permanently branding women and undermining their career options.
I dont know what to suggest as a solution, but legalization comes to mind, decriminalization also comes to mind. There are a lot of narrow minded people out there who want to throw people in jail just for being different than they are. I wouldnt want to see the local girls being recruited right out of high school, but the current system just doesnt accomplish what we want it to accomplish. Possibly the best suggestion I can come up with is the ability to have a conviction sealed after 3 years, so that girls dont have to carry this with them for the rest of their lives.
In the mean time you will find me out at the pool frolicking and drinking Mai Tais. Illustration was taken from a Las Vegas newspaper and shows a lot of decidedly unhappy girls in custody.
